A work in progress

Organic Abstraction

Wayne Franklin’s paintings inhabit the space between gesture and atmosphere.

Working in acrylics as well as oil and cold wax, he builds layered surfaces rich with texture, depth, and shifting color. Using brushes, squeegees, and palette knives, Franklin creates compositions that feel both spontaneous and carefully balanced, alive with energy yet grounded in stillness.

His paintings are not depictions of external scenes but abstractions that evoke emotion, memory, and resonance. Each work unfolds like a visual poem—an interplay of form, texture, and color that invites viewers to pause, reflect, and find their own meaning.

Whether in vibrant chromatic passages or quieter tonal fields, Franklin’s art offers a window into the unseen landscapes of the spirit and imagination.
